17 teams have entered this year's Summer League, the biggest entry since 2019!
We are guaranteed to have a competitive fight for the playoff spots, with champions from the 3 previous seasons, Northern Blues, Eldon and Newbiggin, all competing! We also have some newcomers to the summer as Consett participate for the first time, and Tynemouth returns with 2 teams after a 5-season absence!
Fixtures commence on 1st June, and run on a weekly basis until 2nd September, with each team playing 12 matches and the top four teams qualifying for the playoffs to be held in mid / late September (date & venue tbc).
The Summer League format is as follows:
- PAR 15 scoring (1st to 15)
- 4-person teams
- One match per week throughout the summer
- No post-match meals
- Mixed teams (men, women and jrs)
There are a few rules specific to the Summer League:
- Nominations should be based on current SquashLevels rankings
- Fixtures can only be rearranged before a team's first fixture is played (except in exceptional circumstances), and teams may play more than once in any week.
- Any fixture that is postponed due to exceptional circumstances accepted by the league secretary Cai Younger (cai.younger@outlook.com) must be rearranged within 2 weeks of the original date and notified to Cai.
- All players taking part in the playoffs must have played at least 3 times for their team in order to be eligible.
