After Northumberland had conceded at 5 and Abigail Bedford had beaten Heather Dean at 4 to put Northern 2 up, the match hinged on the 3rd string match between Beth Dean and Sophie Bedford in which Beth recovered from 2-0 down to win 3-2 and give Northumberland their first win. Then Maria Bainbridge at 2 and Helen Dowson at 1 overcame Sarah Bedford and Katie Barker respectively to win the trophy for Northumberland by 3-2.
