1st round ties in the Men's League Cup A and B are scheduled to take place during February and early March, with teams seeking to progress into the quarter finals.
In League Cup A (for clubs' highest teams in Divisions 1 to 3), the action starts on Wed 15th Feb when Northumberland Ladies of Division 3 host Division 2 promotion contenders Boldon 1 of Division 2. Then on Thu 16th Feb, Division 2 relegation candidates Consett 1 face a stiff test at Northern 2 of Division 1.
The remaining Cup A 1st round ties double up as Division 1 league fixtures. Newbiggin 1 host Sunderland 2 on Thu 23rd Feb hoping to repeat their 3-2 win against the same opponents in last season's opening round (the winners to face Division 2 leaders Northumberland 3 in the quarter finals). On Mon 27th Feb, Division 1 leaders Chester-le-Street 1 take on chasing Eldon 1 in an eagerly-anticipated clash, and finally on Wed 8th Mar, Westoe 2 face Primrose 2 in a Division 1 relegation battle. Concordia of Division 2 have been forced through injuries etc to concede to Division 1 promotion contenders Tynemouth 2, who now face Hexham 1 in the quarter finals. (another double-header).

On Sun 12th Feb, Division 4 promotion certainties Northern Juniors 1 host Eldon 3, then on Tue 14th Feb Division 5 strugglers Ashington 1 travel more in hope than expectation to runaway Division 4 leaders Newcastle University 3. Division 5 promotion contenders Boldon 4 will fancy their chances of an upset at home to Northumberland 5 of Division 4 on Wed 15th Feb.
The remaining ties are double-headers, first on Mon 20th Feb when Division 5 leaders Hexham 3 host Alnwick (the winners facing Tynemouth Social in another double-header in the quarter finals), and then on Fri 3rd Mar when Northern 5 of Division 4 entertain bottom-of-the-table Tynemouth 5.

The Ladies' League Cup starts with the only 1st round tie on Tue 28th March, when Tynemouth Ladies 2 entertain Newcastle University Ladies 2 in a Division 2 double header, with the winners playing Northern Ladies 3 in the semi-final. Primrose Ladies will take on the 5th-placed Division 1 team - likely to be Northern Ladies 2 - in the other semi-final.
22/02/23 update:
The Men's and Ladies' Northumbria Cups for the top four Men's and Ladies' teams, along with all the League Cup semis and finals, will no longer be held from Mon 8th to Sat 13th May, due to a clash with the ES Senior ICC Finals on 13th/14th May. An earlier date of Mon 17th to Sat 22nd April has now been agreed at The Northumberland Club, culminating in the Cup Finals and Presentation Night on Sat 22nd April.
