Men's League Cup A [for Div 1 to 3 teams]
There are no clear favourites in this year's competition. Westoe 2 having knocked out Division 1 champions Chester-le-Street 1 by the narrowest of margins in the quarter finals come up against unbeaten Division 2 champions Northumberand 3 (and a certain Bryan Beeson!), and Division 1 runners-up Tynemouth 2 face tough sem-final opponents in Northern 2 (4th-placed in Division 1), who are always capable of a result on the day.
Northumberland 3 progressed to the semi-finals with a 4-1 win over Newbiggin 1 (relegated from Division 1), and now await Westoe 2 who are in the Division 1 relegation playoffs but are having a great cup run having defeated Primrose 2 and then Chester-le-Street 1. CLS 1 had earlier clinched both the title and a place in the quarter-finals by knocking out promotion-chasing Eldon 1 by 3-2 in a close league / cup double header, but their chances of a league and cup 'double' are now over.
In the other half of the draw, Northern 2 ended Division 2 runners-up Boldon 1's involvement with a 4-1 win. Their semi-final opponents Tynemouth 2 booked their place with a comprehensive 5-0 win over relegated Hexham 1.
Quarter final results [division in brackets]:
- Northumberland 3 [2] beat Newbiggin 1 [1] 4-1
- Westoe 2 [1] beat Chester-le-Street 1 [1] 3-2

Men's League Cup B [for Div 4 & 5 teams]
Division 4 champions Newcastle University 3, who are favourites to retain the trophy they won last year, received a walkover through to the semi-finals from Division 5 high-flyers Boldon 4, who narrowly defeated Northumberland 5 of Division 4 by 3-2 in the 1st round.
Sunderland 4, lying mid-table in Division 4, have battled through to the semi-finals after beating Chester-le-Street 3 and then Consett 2 both by the same 3-2 scoreline.
Division 5 champions Hexham 3 (who beat Alnwick 4-1 in the 1st round) edged past Tynemouth Social 3-2 in a closely-contested league and cup double header.
In an all-Northern affair and Division 4 double header, Northern 5 faced a tough task against already-promoted Northern Juniors 1, the Cup second favourites. After both teams had comfortable 5-0 wins in the 1st round, against Tynemouth 5 and Eldon 3 respectively, Juniors continued their winning form with a 5-0 victory over their club rivals.
