Congratulations to Westoe 1 and Newcastle University Ladies 1 who are the champions of the Men's & Ladies' Northumbria Cups respectively!

Westoe put in an incredible performance across the event to win a record 5th Men's Northumbria Cup! In the semi-final, they dispatched a very strong Newcastle University 1A team 4-1 to set up a final with premier champions Northumberland 1! Westoe just edged the final with wins from Liam Gutcher, Chris Boyer and Dave Elsender Jr to beat Northumberland for the 3rd time this season and be crowned cup champions!

In the Ladies' Northumbria Cup Newcastle University Ladies dominated proceedings dropping just one match during the event! They defeated Northumberland Ladies 1 5-0 to advance to the final, where they faced division 1 runners-up Tynemouth. The uni once again showed their class and got the win, 4-1, with Mia Smith getting Tynemouth's sole victory. A faultless season for the university, who deservedly secured the league and cup double!

MEN'S LEAGUE CUP A

WINNERS - Northern 2

RUNNERS-UP - Northumberland 3

Despite being in the division below Northumberland 3 were probably the slight favourites over Northern 2 for the League Cup A title. They had just completed an unbeaten season which saw them dominate division 3 and boasted a squad featuring the likes of Bryan Beeson (British O60s Champion) and Ryan Doran, who both had a 100% record for the season! It was Northern, however, who silenced the home crowd and took the title in emphatic style 4-1, which included a great display from Chris Thompson to end Beeson's unbeaten record!

MEN'S LEAGUE CUP B

WINNERS - Northern Jrs 1

RUNNERS-UP - Newcastle University 3

The B Cup final was a shootout between the top 2 teams in division 4. The division champions Newcastle Uni had done the double over the juniors in the league, but the Northern youngsters were out for revenge and managed to overcome the uni 3 games to 2! An impressive result from Northern Juniors to end their season on a high and deny Newcastle University another league and cup double!

LADIES' LEAGUE CUP

WINNERS - Northern Ladies 2

RUNNERS-UP - Northern Ladies 3

Northern were guaranteed silverware in the Ladies' League Cup, as their 2nd and 3rd teams contested the final! As expected, the 2nd team came out on top, aided by a walkover at no.5, but it was a valiant effort from their 3rd team to reach the final!
