Here is the latest position in the Northumbria and League Cup competitions:
Ladies' Northumbria Cup (for the top 4 Division 1 teams)
The semi-finals and finals will be held at the Northumberland Club on Thursday 10th April (7:15pm) and Saturday 12th April (5:30pm) respectively.
The Ladies' competition will feature league champions and overwhelming favourites Newcastle University Ladies 1, 2nd-placed Northumberland Ladies 1, Northern Ladies 1 and Tynemouth Ladies.
Semi-finals (Thu 10th April):
- Newcastle University Ladies 1 v Tynemouth Ladies
- Northumberland Ladies 1 v Northern Ladies
Men's Northumbria Cup (for the top 4 Premier teams)
The semi-finals and finals will be held at the Northumberland Club on Friday 11th April (7:15pm) and Saturday 12th April (5:30pm) respectively.
The Men's competition will involve league champions and favourites Northern 1, 2nd-placed Newcastle University 1, and two of the top three Northumberland Club teams (1B and 1C). Northumberland are the holders, having won the league and cup double last seaon as Northumberland 1, but this year have split their strength amongst their three Premier teams, perhaps to give the other clubs more of a chance!
Semi-finals (Fri 11th April):
- Northern 1 v Northumberland 1B or 1C
- Newcastle University 1B v Northumberland 1B or 1C
Men's League Cup A [for Div 1 to Div 3 teams]
At the quarter-final stage, favourites Chester-le-Street 1 knocked out Northumberland 4 by 4-1 and will now be away to Eldon 1, who beat Primrose 1 by 4-1 in a crucial Division 1 promotion and Cup A quarter-final double-header. Meanwhile Northern Juniors 1 narrowly defeated Newcastle University 3 by 3-2 in a top-of-Division 2 and quarter-final, double-header and so Juniors go forward to the semi-finals where they host club rivals Northern 2, who overcame Westoe 2 by 5-0 in their quarter-final.

- Northen Juniors 1 [2] bt Newcastle University 3 [2] 3-2

- Northen Juniors 1 v Northern 2 (10th Apr)

Men's League Cup B [for Div 4 & 5 teams]
Chester-le-Street 3 are through to the semi-finals with a 4-1 win over Northumberland 6, and on 3rd April they will meet Consett 2 (who were given a walkover by Tynemouth 4) for a place in the final.
Joint favourites Newcastle University 4 and Benwell Hill were due to meet each other in the semi-finals on 27th March, having comfortably dispatched Northern 5 and Tynemouth Social respectively in the quarter finals. However Uni 4 have conceded the tie, putting Benwell straight through to the final on a walkover.

Ladies' League Cup (for 5th-placed Division 1 team and all Division 2 teams)
The only quarter-final tie between Northern Ladies 2 and 3 ended predictably with a comforatable win for Ladies 2, who now play Northumberland Ladies 2 (5th-placed in Division 1) in the semi-finals.
The other semi-final between Newcastle Ladies 2 and Primrose Ladies was a very close affair, Primrose coming out on top by 3-2.

Final at the Northumberland Club (Sat 12th April, 12:30pm)
The Cup Finals and Presentation Night will be held at the Northumberland Club on Saturday 12th April.

An important point to note is that under League rule 5.3, In order to be eligible to play in Cup semi-final and/or final ties, a player must have already played at least three team matches for the relevant club in the relevant League during the season, of which at least one match was during the second half of the season, unless there are mitigating circumstances (eg injury) notified to the League Secretary and accepted by the Northumbria Squash Committee.
