Congratulations to Northern and Newcastle University Ladies, who have both won their respective Men's and Ladies' League titles!

In the Men's Premier, Northern 1 secured the title on 20th March by moving onto 305 points, 34 points clear of second-placed Newcastle University 1B who have only one match remaining. The decisive result was Northern's 4-1 (18-5) win against Uni 1B on 27th February.

Northern's squad of Cai Younger, Andrew Shipley, Justin Dixon, David Jackson, Mark Dinsley and Craig Dowie proved too strong, with Justin and Mark remaining unbeaten throughout the season, and Mark finishing as Player of the Division. Newcastle University 1 B's squad of Liam Gutcher, Ross Jowsey, Dominic Cox, Joe Elliott and Matthew Harrison, ably supported by Daniel Sarkissian, Matthew Davidson and Sam Rudd, were never far behind but will have to settle for a very commendable runners-up spot.

In the Ladies' League, Newcastle University Ladies 1 retained the title with 269 points and one match remaining, well ahead of runners-up Northumberland Ladies 1. The Uni squad of Emma Turnbull, Emily King, Mia Smith, Kate Maxwell-Armstrong, Zoe Shipsey and Katherine Jarvis lost only one match all season, with Emma, Emily and Kate remaining unbeaten, and Kate finishing as Player of the Division. 

Both the League championship-winning teams will be favourites to add the Men's and Ladies' Northumbria Cups to their trophy cabinets on Finals Night, Saturday 12th April at the Northumberland Club (5:30pm start).
