The divisional playoffs are now in their third season, whereby the team finishing just below the automatic promotion places in each division challenges the team finishing just above the automatic relegation place(s) in the division above, with an extra promotion / relegation place at stake.

These divisional playoffs were once again held at Northern FC over three consecutive evenings, 7-9 April, with results as follows [division in brackets]:

Div 4/5 playoff - Consett 2 [4] bt Primrose 4 [5] 3-2

Div 3/4 playoff​ - Northern 4 [3] bt Chester-le-Street 3 [4] 5-0

Div 2/3 playoff - Northern 3 [2] bt Chester-le-Street 2 [3] 3-2

Div 1/2 playoff - Northumberland 4 [2] bt Westoe 2 [1] 4-1

Premier/Div 1 playoff - Newcastle University 1A [P] bt  Northern 2 [1] 5-0

There were some close matches and nervous defending teams. Congratulations to Northumberland 4 who become only the second challenger team to gain promotion through the playoffs!
