Congratulations to Northern and Tynemouth Ladies, who have both won their respective Men's and Ladies' League titles!
Here is the final position at the top and bottom of each division of the leagues, with the divisional playoffs still to come!
PREMIER
Champions - Northern 1
Runners-up - Newcastle University 1
Relegation playoff - Newcastle University 2
Relegated - Tynemouth 1 and Eldon 1
Player of the Division - John Thompson (Northern 1)
Northern 1 comfortably secured their second successive Premier title with 325 points, 61 points clear of second-placed Newcastle University 1.
Northern's squad of Andrew Shipley and Cai Younger (1st half), Michael Mattimore (2nd half), Alex Robertson, Duncan Rutherford, John and Chris Thompson, Mark Dinsley and Matthew Thompson proved too strong, with Cai, Michael, John, Chris, Mark and Matthew all remaining unbeaten throughout the season, and John finishing as Player of the Division. Newcastle University 1's squad of Liam Gutcher, Fergus Hunt, Yassin Behary, Joe Elliott, Dominic Cox and Angus Robinson had to settle for a second consecutive runners-up spot ahead of the three split-strength Northumberland teams.
2023/24 champions Northumberland again split their strength amongst their three Premier teams, with 1B and 1A finishing in third and fourth places respectively to claim the remaining Northumberland Cup positions.
Northumberland 1C, Westoe 1 and Chester-le-Street 1 occupied 5th, 6th and 7th places, and Newcastle University 2 finished 8th and face a relegation playoff against Northern 2.
Premier League first-timers Eldon 1 found it tough going and were relegated automatically along with Tynemouth 1, who had never before been outside the top flight.
The top four Premier teams will compete in the Men's Northumbria Cup at the Northumberland Club with semis on Fri 8th May (7:15pm) followed by the final on Sat 9th May (5:30pm).
DIVISION 1
Promoted - Sunderland 1 (champions) and Newbiggin 1
Promotion playoff - Northern 2
Relegation playoff - Primrose 1
Relegated - Newcastle University 3 and Northern 3
Player of the Division - Lewis Conqueror (Sunderland 1)
Sunderland 1 clinched the Division 1 title by the narrowest of margins from runners-up Newbiggin 1. Sunderland regained their Premier status at the first attempt, their top player being Player of the Division Lewis Conqueror with 14 wins from 16 appearances. Newbiggin finished level on points with Sunderland, losing out on the title on games conceded, and return to the top flight after an absence of six seasons, with Newbiggin's David Jackson finishing also with 14 wins from 16 appearances.
Northern 2 secured third place for the third season in succession, 40 points behind the top two, with Boldon 1 a further 10 points behind in fourth place.
At the other end, Newcastle University 3 and winless Northern 3 were relegated, with Primrose 1 losing their battle to avoid the playoffs, finishing level on points with Tynemouth 2 who escaped due to fewer games conceded over the season.
DIVISION 2
Promoted - Westoe 2 (champions) and Northumberland 5
Promotion playoff - Hexham 1
Relegation playoff - Consett 1
Relegated - Boldon 2 and Sunderalnd 2
Player of the Division - Paul Little (Westoe 2)
Westoe 2 bounced back from their relegation playoff defeat of last season to return to Division 1 as champions, 17 points ahead of riunners-up Northumberland 5, who achieved their third successive promotion.
Westoe's Paul Little claimed the Player of the Division title, winning all his 16 matches. Primrose's Ryan Sweeney was the League's Most Prolific Player, playing a total of 32 matches (16 for Primrose 2 and a further 16 for Primrose 1 in Division 1).
This season's promotion playoff spot went to Hexham 1, who finished a further 15 points behind Northumberland 5 and 6 points ahead of Primrose 2.
Down at the bottom, Boldon 2 and Sunderland 2 were automatically relegated, and Consett 1 face challengers Benwell Hill in the relegation playoff.
DIVISION 3
Promoted - Chester-le-Street 2 (champions) and Tynemouth 3
Promotion playoff - Benwell Hill
Relegation playoff - Chester-le-Street 3
Relegated - Newcastle University 4 and Primrose 3
Player of the Division - David Pearson (Chester-le-Street 2 & 3)
Champions Chester-le-Street 3 finished 25 points clear of runners-up Tynemouth 3, who in turn were 34 points ahead of thrid-placed Benwell Hill. David Pearson who represented both Chester-le-Street 2 and 3 took the Player of the Division title based mainly on his prolific number of appearances (19, winning 13).
Chester-le-Street 3 are in the relegation playoff place having managed to finish just 4 points above both Newcastle University 4 and Primrose 3, who are relegated.
DIVISION 4
Promoted - Newbiggin 2 (champions) and Consett 2
Promotion playoff - Northumberland 6
Relegation playoff - Tynemouth 4
Relegated - Sunderland 3 and Primrose 4
Player of the Division - John Armstrong (Newbiggin 2)
Champions Newbiggin 2 proved too strong for their Division 4 opponents, with three players Rob Black (who remained unbeaten), John Armstrong and Chris Pringle all in contention for Player of the Division, which just went to John on his greater overall contribution to the team results. Runners-up Consett 2 were 24 points behind, followed by Northumberland 6 a further 26 points back in the promotion playoff position.
Tynemouth 4 staved off a late challenge by Sunderland 3 to secure the relegation playoff place by 2 points, with Sunderland 3 relegated automatically alongside Primrose 4.
DIVISION 5
Promoted - Northern Juniors (champions) and Chester-le-Street 4
Promotion playoff - Consett 3
Wooden spoon - Hexham 3
Player of the Division - Brandon Kane (Boldon 4)
Northern Juniors powered to the Division 5 title, 9 points ahead of Chester-le-Street 4 who notably clinched the runners-up spot in their first season. Consett 3 claimed the promotion playoff place ahead of Boldon 4 and Northern 6.
Brandon Kane (Boldon 4) was Player of the Division with 17 wins from 18 matches.
The wooden spoon went to Hexham 3, who won three matches this season.
LADIES' DIVISION 1
Champions - Newcastle University Ladies 1
Runners-up - Northumberland Ladies 1
Player of the Division - Emma Rowell
In the Ladies' Spring League, Tynemouth Ladies 1 took the Division 1 title with 79 points, 6 points ahead of runners-up Northumberland Ladies 1. The Tynemouth squad of Emily King, Esme Clayton, Emma and Amie Rowell, Dawn Ward and Gill Millington was just good enough, with Emma finishing as Player of the Division over the combined Winter and Spring Leagues.

LADIES' DIVISION 2
Champions - Primrose Ladies
Runners-up - Northern Ladies 2
Player of the Division - Lorna Dawson (Primrose Ladies)
Primrose Ladies won the Division 2 title with 8 wins out of 8 and 144 points, comfortably ahead of ruinners-up Northern Ladies 2 on 118. Primrose's Lorna Dawson picked up the Player of the Division award with 13 wins from 15 appearances.
