Northumbria County Closed 2018

The draws for the Northumbria County Closed 2018, being held at Tynemouth Squash Club between Sat 13th and Sun 21st January 2018, are now available through the Tournaments section on the League Master homepage.

In a strong Men's A event, Liam Gutcher (Northern) defends his title against multiple former champion Dave Barnett (Northumberland Club), with the up-and-coming Max Forster (Northumberland Club) and previous finalist Paul Lord (Westoe) also in the mix.

In the Ladies event, current champion Sam Ward (Northern) is up against long-time rival and former champion Hannah Cliff (Tynemouth), with Karen Heron (Northern / Benwell Hill) and Lowri Waugh (Northumberland Club) also seeded.

The Men's Over 45 event is dominated by title-holder Peter McCleod (Sunderland) and last year's finalist Jon Evans (Tynemouth). Jon, the Welsh O55 champion, will also look to retain his County O55 title under challenge from last year's finalist Glenn Ward (Northern), whilst in the O60 event holder Ron Freeman (Ashington) is seeded to meet Welsh O60 champion Adrian Alderton (Hexham) in the final. Gill Millington (Tynemouth) defends her Ladies' O40 title against Nicky Dobson (Tynemouth).

There also Men's B, C, and D graded events and Racketball and Doubles taking place and spectators are welcome throughout the week, culminating in the event finals on Sunday 21st January from 1pm, with the main Ladies' and Men's finals starting from around around 6:15pm and 7pm respectively.
