All of the second-round ties in both the Men's League Cups A and B have now taken place, with winning teams progressing into the quarter finals.
In League Cup A (for Div 1 to Div 3 teams), all of the top four seeds from Div 1 are through to the quarter finals. Sunderland 1, Newcastle University 3 and Northumberland 2 went through on walkovers, and Tynemouth 2 beat Dunston 1 of Div 2 by 4-1. Northern 3 (Div 2) also had a walkover. Westoe 2 (Div 1) secured a narrow 3-2 win over Benwell Hill (Div 2), and in a slight upset Primrose 1 (Div 2) defeated Concordia 1 (Div 1) by 4-1. In the biggest upset of the round, Eldon Leisure 1 (Div 2) ran out comfortable 4-1 winners against Hexham 1 (Div 1).

In League Cup B (for Div 4 to Div 7 teams), Consett 2 are now the only remaining seeded team, having gone through to the quarter finals on a walkover. Northern Juniors 2 (the only remaining Div 6 team) created a major upset by narrowly defeating 2nd seeds Tynemouth Social (Div 4) by 3-2, with all three string wins for the Juniors being 5-setters. Primrose 3 (Div 5 promotion candidates) caused a stir by overcoming 3rd seeds and Div 4 table-toppers Chester-le-Street 3 by 4-1 in a tie that was closer than the scoreline suggests. In another surprise, Dunston 2 (Div 5) had a narrow 3-2 win over 4th seeds Concordia 2 (Div 4). Eldon Leisure 2 (Div 4) kept to the form book by beating Boldon 2 (Div 5) 4-1, and so did Northumberland 4 (Div 4) beating Sunderland 3 (Div 5) also 4-1. In the clash of the 5th teams, Northern 5 (Div 4) narrowly beat Tynemouth 5 (Div 5) 3-2, with Tynemouth having to concede the 5th string. In the remaining tie, Scotezzi Squash (Div 4) scraped past Ashington (Div 5) 3-2.
