Simon Cliff got Sunderland off to a good start with a 3-0 win over Lennox Lockwood at 2, but Liam Dobbin levelled the match with a 3-0 win over Ben Robinson at 4, and Nathan Dobson gave Tynemouth a 2-1 match lead with a 3-0 win over Alex Storey at 3. Then in the performance of the night, Matty Walsh at 1 came back from 2-0 down to beat Peter McCleod 3-2 and clinch the match and the cup for Tynemouth. Rob Brown rounded off the victory with a 3-0 win over Sean Smith at 5.
