| Report: | Northern established a firm grip on the match early on against a weakened Tynemouth team missing three of their regular players. 5th and 4th strings Mark Dinsley and Sam Ward beat Richard Bradley and Lewis Cruz respectively 3-0 and string 3rd David Jackson overcame Hannah Cliff's resistance to win 3-1. 1st string Cai Younger recovered from a slow start to beat Jamie Todd 3-1 in an entertaining match, and Tynemouth's only winner was 2nd string Richard Parsons who overcame Alex Robertson 3-0 after two very close opening games. So Northern Men emulated their Ladies' team by completing the Premier League and Northumbria Cup double, making it a "double double" for Northern! |
